When did you start working at the Unland Companies?
I’ve worked at the Unland Companies since August 2022.
How much experience do you have in the financial industry before joining Unland? Tell us about your education and any prior work experience.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Western Illinois University in Macomb and I’m almost finished with my Master of Business Arts from University of Phoenix. I have worked in insurance and financial services for the last 15 years.
Tell us about your family. Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Hanna City, IL, and later transferred to Limestone High School, where I graduated. I have been in the Greater Peoria area my whole life; in fact, I’ve lived in Morton for the last 15 years. I have a wife, Brooke, and two boys — Dusty and Lawson — who both attend Morton Junior High School.
What do you like to do in your free time? What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I am very active in the community, having coached baseball, basketball, and football in Morton and Peoria for the last 10 years. I coach for Illinois Steel — now called WowFactor — a travel baseball team nationally known for the last four years. I’ve also been on the board of directors for Morton JFL for the last five years and coached the last 10; I will coach the 14U team this year.
In our free time, my family and I love to boat and camp on weekends, in addition to hunting and fishing.
How do you give back to the community?
I sponsor many different sports teams and organizations. For instance, I sponsor baseball and football shirts for Morton JFL — including summer camp shirts, flag football shirts, coaches shirts, and fundraising shirts — and Morton Youth Baseball Association, including coaches shirts and tee ball shirts. I also volunteer my time at most charity and fundraising events for any of the organizations I work with.
