When did you start working with Unland?

I joined Unland in 2015, but have worked in the insurance industry for over 37 years. I take pride in helping my clients achieve their business goals and bring the best possible benefits to their employees.

What is your overall experience in the insurance industry?

I have extensive experience in Life and Health and Employee Benefits, working as an agent, customer service representative, and manager. I’m also a registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), and Chartered Benefit Consultant (CBC). In addition, I have served on a variety of boards both personally and professionally over the years within the community and have received several leadership and professional awards.

Tell us about your family.

I have been married to my husband Matt for over 40 years. He is a retired elementary PE teacher and Coach. He coached many sports, and was the basketball coach at Morton Jr. High School where he won 500+ games, competed in the IESA State Tournament final four 8 times, and earned 3 state championships. We have two grown daughters; Kristi who is a photographer and lives in Yates City with her husband Nathan and daughter Bennett; and Karen, who is a Channel manager for Aruba Networking and lives in Chicago with her husband John and two daughters, Elodie and Frances. I was born in Michigan, the daughter of a college professor and elementary teacher, raised in Charleston, IL, and have been a resident of Morton, IL for 35 years.

How do you like to spend your free time?

We attend sporting events and musical theater, enjoy traveling, and love spending time with family and friends. We also have a condo in a golf community in Naples, FL and enjoy spending as much time as possible there. I also enjoy photography, walking, boating, reading, and seeing my granddaughters.

In what ways do you give back to your community?

We are active in our church, volunteer for community events, and my husband has been a volunteer coach for the past 4 years at Bethel Lutheran School.
